The Charity

Back to Home Page In the UK, one baby in every 33 is born with a genetic disorder or birth defect... that's one born every 30 minutes whose life could be affected. There are over 4,000 recognised genetic disorders, some of which have no current treatment.

Pioneering research to develop such treatments, plus vital advice and family support services are being funded through Jeans for Genes to bring great hope to many families.

Jeans for Genes, organised by four national charities, raises funds for research into serious genetic disorders affecting thousands of children such as cystic fibrosis, haemophilia and sickle cell. Funds also provide laboratory equipment and facilities, as well as valuable advice and support for families.

The four original partner Jeans for Genes charities are - Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, the PiA, the Society for MPS Diseases and the CGD Research Trust.
